1. Festival Participants may be the
following: Soloists, Bands, Children's Soloists and Children's Bands (There
can't be more than 25 persons per group).
2. All candidates are asked to prepare two
renditions, one of which reflects this year's theme. All lyrics must be in accordance with
the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Those which are not in the English
language must be translated into English.
3. All lyrics and/or their translations
must be submitted at time of registration. The total time of both renditions
should not exceed 8 minutes.
4. Prior to the Festival, all participants
must audition. Those who qualify will be chosen and given the opportunity to
participate in the Festival.
5. It is mandatory for all those who live
out of province, and who wish to participate in the Festival, to send an
audio/visual recording (its quality must be good) of both renditions, in
addition to the lyrics and/or their translations by June 30th. Out of province
candidates are exempt from the audition; however, their attendance is mandatory
at the technical rehearsal. The date and time of the rehearsal will be announced
shortly.
6. During the Festival competition the
composition of the group, the lyrics, and the arrangements of the presentation
have to be congruent to those featured during the audition.
7. It is forbidden to use cassettes, CDs,
mini-discs, and records.
8. In the children's category, the maximum
age of the performer is fourteen (14) on the day of the event.
9. Contestants may only compete in one
category.
10. Participants will be divided in the
following manner:

Children category: soloists and
groups
·
Adult category: soloists and groups
11. The jury will rate:
·
Musical composition
·
The arrangement of songs
·
Interpretation - musicality, musical
impressionability, rhythm
·
Vocal range
·
Language fluency and diction
·
Spiritual depth of the pieces
·
Presentation on stage
12. During the Festival it is prohibited for
contestants to cheer (with the exception of the award presentations), and/or add
commentary or additions to their presentation.
13. Breaking any of the stipulated rules or
the contract may result in disqualification.
14. Patrons, consisting of one person only,
for competitors in the Children Category (soloists or groups) should be
registered prior to the event.
15. Following registration, soloists,
directors of groups, or those responsible for the competitors are asked to keep
in contact with the International Festival of Religious Song committee.
16. The Festival's Organizing Committee
reserves an exclusive right to use materials recorded during the Religious Song
Festival.
17. The Organizing Committee of the
International Festival of Religious Song reserves the right to make any
decisions regarding matters which may arise related to the Festival which
have not been accounted for in the above Rules and Regulations.
